Where to Deep Sea Fish in the Bahamas

Where to Deep Sea Fish in the Bahamas

If the idea of reeling in barracudas, tunas, marlins, amberjacks, mahi mahi, swordfish, wahoo, snappers, or allusive silver ghost bonefish inshore excites you, then perhaps you should consider fishing in the Bahamas!

The Bahamas holds over FIFTY World records when it comes to fishing. And Nassau, the capital, is one of the most popular fishing locations for tourists and seasoned anglers. Deep sea, or inshore, fishing requires patience and skill. Yet, fishing in June provides you the greatest chance at catching a barracuda, blackfin tuna, blue marlin, or bonito.

1.Hunter Charters

This Nassau-based deep-sea fishing charter takes “pride in providing guests with the highest quality Bahamas fishing charter experience complete with modern and clean boats, trained and friendly captains and crews, and well-maintained top brand fishing gear.” (According to their website.)

The Hunter Charters’ fishing experience is excellent because it is easy. They provide all guests with fishing licenses so they’re ready to hit the water once they arrive. And while catching the fish will provide ample challenge, The Hunter Charters’ staff simplifies everything that comes after. Visiting anglers can have their fish mounted by a local taxidermist, prepared for dinner, or sealed to take home (with a limit of eight pounds per person).

2. Blue Finn Charters

This charter is a bit pricier than the first. However, eight guests, as opposed to five, can fit on their twenty-eight-foot charter. They also offer four different pricing options, ranging from four to eight-hour slots, to accommodate guests.

Blue Finn Charters deserves to be in the top three best deep-sea fishing services in Nassau, because of its flexibility and willingness to work with anglers. As they write, “The fish you’ll be targeting will depend on where you choose to fish – either the reefs, offshore trolling, or fishing the drop-off. Species can include but are not limited to Marlin, Sailfish, Vermilion Snapper, Yellowtail, Mahi Mahi, Grouper, Barracuda, and plenty more. Whatever your skill level, there’s a fish out here with your name on it.”

3. Yellowtail Charters

This is definitely the most family-friendly option. Yellowtail Charters has no minimum age and ample things to do and see while on board. One of their vessel's is a forty-two-foot Sea Yacht which tours onshore and offshore locations at a roughly 21 knot cruising speed. The Captain has over thirty years of experience fishing in Nassau, The Bahamas.

“The amenities are all there too, a flybridge, fighting chairs, equipment for spearfishing and snorkeling. You can also relax, because there’s a full kitchen, bed, A/C cabin, and a multimedia system on board” (Courtesy of Yellowtail Charters Website). Whether you’re looking for intensity or relaxation, Yellowtail can provide either in the crystal blue Bahamian waters.
