September is our favorite time of the year to hit the beach and spend some time on the water here on Long Island. Low humidity, warm water and cool nights. Not to mention the fall run for some great fishing action off of Montauk. It doesn’t get any better than this. Through in some Apple picking and pumpkin pie here on the east end of Long Island, and we are good to go.
This year is a little different than any other year…no kidding. In fact, the beaches are staying open till the end of the September….s o maybe it won’t be as quiet as the years of past. No tumble weed Tuesday as the Tuesday after Labor Day has become known as on the east end. Schools are opening later and lots of folks are just staying at their summer pad and not returning to the big city.
So, get out there and enjoy the extended summer vibe on the east end. And while you are doing your thing on the beach or water remember to wear your favorite sun protecting clothing. Montauk Tackle.
ALL OF MONTAUK TACKLE PERFORMANCE APPAREL INCORPORATES AMERICAN MADE RECYCLED YARNS INFUSED WITH 50+UPF SUN PROTECTION, MOISTURE WICKING, ANTIMICROBIAL AND STAIN RESISTANT PROPERTIES, SO YOU CAN ENJOY MORE TIME OUTDOORS WHILE STAYING COOL AND DRY.
50+UPF – rated fabrics are the core of all Montauk Tackle Co. apparel. Infused at the yarn level and designed to block the harmful rays of the sun all while keeping the fabric cool and comfortable.
Nano-particles are infused into the yarn to inhibit microorganism growth, control odor and preserve the life of our fabrics. Other nano-technologies are infused at the base layer against your skin and engineered to draw perspiration away from your body. We also employ fibers in a hydrostatic weave that acts to repel spills and splashes that would ruin traditional fabrics.
Our fabrics are made from recycled plastic bottles. We estimate 4 plastic bottles have been repurposed into each one of our shirts. Our fabric partner was selected because they actually collect their own plastic bottles and feed them into a vertically integrated process to create Montauk’s engineered recycled smart fabrics. It allows our apparel to tell an amazing certifiably sustainability story—traceable and transparent.
American Made and Proud of it.
Montauk Tackle Company was built to design and produce the finest American made sun protective apparel available. But it’s about more than that. It’s also about celebrating this incredible land of ours and its amazing people, our incredible coastlines that embrace our waters; the mountains and forests, and industries that thrive in them; the vibrant cities; the rural villages; the vacation getaways and the hardworking industry towns. It’s about the great American outdoors, and the great Americans who work and play in them.
We repurposed 4 plastic bottles into everyone of our shirts.
Made Like No Other—Our fabric partner was selected because they actually collect their own plastic bottles and feed them into a vertically integrated process to create Montauk’s engineered recycled polyester yarn, the basis for Montauk's Smart Fabric billions of plastic bottles go into landfills every year. But now we all can do something about it. Our yarn partner recycles over 14 Billion Bottles to date and still counting. Compared to making what's called virgin fiber, making our fabrics with recycled yarns offsets using new petroleum, emitting fewer greenhouse gases and conserving water and energy in the process. That makes a big difference for all of our future.
You keep recycling. We’ll keep making shirts.
